In short: You retain your rights to your files. Use PDFConvertNet responsibly. Temporary files are automatically deleted within 1 hour, while files you choose to save to your account remain until you delete them. We provide the Service "as is" and may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. We may introduce advertising, including Google AdSense, in the future. Welcome to PDFConvertNet. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of pdfconvertnet.com and any related services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the Service.

1. Who We Are

PDFConvertNet is an independently operated online service that provides PDF and document conversion tools. References to "we," "us," or "our" mean PDFConvertNet.

2. Eligibility

You may use the Service if you are legally able to enter into a binding agreement in your jurisdiction and are not prohibited from using the Service under applicable law.

If you are using the Service on behalf of a company, organization, or other entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

If you are under the age required to consent to data processing or enter into an agreement in your jurisdiction, you may use the Service only with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian where required by applicable law.

3. Your Account

Some features of the Service may require you to create an account. When creating an account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and current information.
  • Keep your password confidential.
  • Not knowingly share your account credentials with others.
  • Notify us if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

You are responsible for activity occurring through your account, except where unauthorized activity results from circumstances beyond your reasonable control or our failure to maintain reasonable security measures.

4. Acceptable Use

You are responsible for the files you upload and for how you use the Service. You agree not to:

  • Upload or process content that is illegal, malicious, or infringes the rights of others.
  • Upload files containing malware, viruses, or other harmful code.
  • Upload or process content that you do not have the legal right to use or process.
  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, damage, or interfere with the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Attempt to access another user's account, files, or data without authorization.
  • Attempt to bypass security, authentication, rate limits, or other technical restrictions.
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, or automate access to the Service in violation of these Terms or applicable law.
  • Use the Service to build a competing service or resell access without our permission.
  • Use the Service for fraud, phishing, spam, abuse, or other unlawful activity.

We reserve the right to remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, applicable law, or threaten the security or operation of the Service.

5. Your Files and Content

You retain your rights and ownership interests in the files and content you upload. We do not claim ownership of your files.

By uploading a file, you grant PDFConvertNet a limited, non-exclusive, temporary license to access, store, process, modify as technically necessary, and transmit the file solely as necessary to provide the conversion or other tool requested by you.

This limited license does not give PDFConvertNet ownership of your files and ends when the file is deleted according to our applicable retention practices, except where continued retention or processing is required by law, security requirements, or legitimate operational purposes.

You are solely responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary rights, permissions, and legal authority to upload and process the files you submit to the Service.

6. File Handling and Retention

Uploaded files are handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

In summary:

  • Temporary uploads, previews, intermediate processing files, and other temporary files are automatically scheduled for deletion within 1 hour.
  • Files that you explicitly save to your account may remain available until you delete them.
  • Temporary converted output files are deleted according to the temporary-file cleanup process unless they are explicitly saved to your account.
  • You can delete files saved to your account using the available deletion controls.

Although we use automated cleanup processes, deletion may not always be instantaneous because of backups, system processing, technical limitations, or legal and security requirements.

7. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, protect, and retain information.

We do not sell personal information. We also do not use uploaded files or their contents to train our own AI or machine-learning models.

8. Third-Party Services

The Service may integrate with or link to third-party services, such as cloud storage providers, authentication providers, email services, analytics providers, or advertising providers.

Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the independent practices, availability, security, or policies of third-party services.

If you choose to use a third-party integration, such as cloud storage or third-party sign-in, information or files may be transferred to that provider as necessary to provide the feature you requested.

9. Advertising

PDFConvertNet may introduce third-party advertising services, including Google AdSense, in the future to help support the Service.

Advertising is not necessarily active on the Service at the time these Terms are published. If advertising is enabled, advertising providers may use cookies, identifiers, or similar technologies to display advertisements, measure advertising performance, prevent fraud, or provide personalized or non-personalized advertising, subject to applicable law and available privacy settings.

Advertising providers may process information according to their own privacy policies and applicable terms. We do not intentionally provide advertisers with the contents of files that you upload for conversion.

Before or when advertising technologies are activated, we will implement disclosures, consent mechanisms, privacy controls, or other measures required by applicable law.

10. Intellectual Property

The Service itself, including its design, logos, branding, text, graphics, software, code, layout, and features, is owned by PDFConvertNet or its applicable licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reproduce, or create derivative works from the Service or its content without our prior written permission, except where permitted by applicable law.

Your files remain subject to your rights as described in Section 5 of these Terms.

11. Service Availability

We aim to keep PDFConvertNet available and reliable, but we do not guarantee that the Service will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

The Service may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, upgrades, technical problems, security incidents, infrastructure failures, third-party service failures, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

We may modify, restrict, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the Service at any time.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory.

To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will always be available, uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.
  • Files will always convert successfully or produce results that meet your requirements.
  • Converted files will always preserve every element, format, feature, or piece of information contained in the original file.
  • Any errors or defects in the Service will always be corrected.
  • The Service will meet every particular requirement or expectation.

You use the Service at your own risk and should maintain appropriate copies or backups of important files.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PDFConvertNet and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, loss of profits, loss of business, loss of goodwill, or business interruption arising out of or relating to your use of or inability to use the Service.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of:

  • The amount you paid to us, if any, during the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim; or
  • USD 50.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations of liability. Where such laws apply, the limitations in this section will apply only to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.

14. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless PDFConvertNet and its operator from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and reasonable expenses arising out of or related to:

  • Your use of the Service.
  • Your violation of these Terms.
  • Your violation of applicable law.
  • Your violation of the rights of another person or entity, including intellectual property rights.
  • Files or content that you upload to the Service where you did not have the necessary rights or permissions.

15. Suspension and Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. If you have an account, you may delete it using the available account controls or by contacting us where applicable.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms, engage in abuse or fraudulent activity, create a security risk, are required to do so by law, or if we discontinue the Service.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately end. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination, including intellectual property rights, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, and dispute-related provisions, will continue to apply.

16. Changes to the Service or Terms

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service, in whole or in part, at any time.

We may also update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the Service, our practices, or applicable legal requirements.

When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide additional notice through the Service or by email.

Your continued use of the Service after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

17. Governing Law

These Terms will be governed by the applicable laws of the jurisdiction in which PDFConvertNet is legally operated, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be subject to the courts having appropriate jurisdiction, except where applicable consumer-protection law provides otherwise.

If you are a consumer residing in a jurisdiction with mandatory consumer-protection laws, nothing in these Terms is intended to limit rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or waived.

18. Miscellaneous

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any other applicable policies referenced by the Service, constitute the agreement governing your use of PDFConvertNet, subject to any additional terms that apply to specific features.
